**Minimum Qualifications**:

- College diploma or university degree in Planning or GIS or a related discipline (e.g., Urban Geography, Environmental Science, Geomatics, etc.) is required.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a related position is required with at least one (1) year in a municipal setting preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of the Planning Act and associated Regulations, Provincial Policy Statement, and other related legislation and guidelines is required.
- Proficiency with GIS software is required with a preference towards the Esri ArcGIS platform.
- Ability to read and interpret site, subdivision and engineering design/plans is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
- Ability to interpret air photos and understand land surveys and legal descriptions of property.
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines, and the ability to deal with multiple demands.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills are required.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, investigative, problem-solving, and report writing skills are required.
- The incumbent is required to have a strong knowledge of and skill base in clerical functions.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
This position involves office work with periods of sitting, typing, and using office equipment. Interruptions are common. Meetings requiring intense periods of concentration and minute taking. Site inspections require light physical demands outside of normal office working conditions.
