**Job Description**:
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to join our team of skilled professionals at our Hawkesbury, ON Location.

Position Overview:
The Maintenance Superintendent is an experienced, results & production oriented, hands-on progressive leader, with the potential to advance within the organization, which can drive synergy between technological advancements and workplace performance. This position is responsible for the Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Departments, which ultimately play a significant role in the success of the plant. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for formulating and developing goals and objectives and directing day-to-day activities- Manage maintenance and electrical employees- Initiate and drive operational enhancements and improvements- Determine equipment and manpower requirements for daily operational needs- Analyze and trouble-shoot major downtime events using structured problem solving tools- Reviews and update written maintenance instructions and schedules- Work closely with Maintenance team and other departments to implement cost saving measures- Set and monitor maintenance performance targets both short and long term- Provide highly developed leadership, change management, interpersonal communication and people skills to help drive plant performance- Hire and develop maintenance team members towards attainment of their potential- Aggressively cultivate and promote a positive and innovative work environment- Ensure policies, procedures and practices are strictly adhered to- Address all safety concerns either raised by employees or from safety audits. Advise workers and management of any potential or actual hazards- Complete Incident Investigations and ensure corrective measures are taken when necessary- All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or substantial equivalent experience- Minimum 5+ progressive years in operations as a Maintenance Supervisor- Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification preferred- Lean Manufacturing experience required- Strong knowledge of CMMS programs such as Maximo- Analytical, data-driven problem solving and action planning skills- Proven track record in continuous improvement- Proven track record in cost reductions and increased productivity- Strong knowledge of basic engineering principles- Experience in a union environment with strong labor relations skills- Ability to empower, supervise and direct a diverse workforce- Experience in holding employees accountable for working safely and providing a safe work environment- Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility- Strong interpersonal and team building skills- Excellent customer service focus and results oriented- Analytical and computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Access- Bilingual, ability to speak, read and write in English and French
