An established Mississauga Law Firm (located near Square One) is seeking a Law Clerk for a full time position in their Creditors’ Rights department. The Law Clerk will work closely with lawyers and legal assistants for the timely and efficient management of files and legal actions

**Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to;**
- Preparing court forms and other documents pursuant to the _Rules of Civil Procedure_ and the _Rules of the Small Claims Court._
- Coordinating the issuance, filing, and service of Court forms and other documents
- Drafting and sending correspondence
- Communicating with courts and Sheriff’s offices, process servers and other law firms
- Liaising with clients to obtain information and respond to inquiries
- Reviewing and evaluating files to determine appropriate actions and monitoring critical deadlines
- Making recommendations for procedural optimization; documenting and updating processes, precedents, and checklists
- Ensuring that procedures are in compliance with applicable legislation, court procedures, and client directives

**Required Qualifications;**
- Degree, Diploma, or Graduate Certificate from an accredited Legal Assistant / Law Clerk Program
- Working knowledge of Small Claims Court and Superior Court rules and procedures
- Strong problem solving skills, communication skills, organizational skills, and negotiations skills
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment which requires both independent work and working within a team
- Work experience (preferably in a Creditors' Rights Law Firm, Collection Agency or Financial Institution) is an asset
