**REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: -**

Permanent Manitoba Teaching Certificate
- Training and experience in literacy assessment and instruction
- Training and experience in Teaching English as an Additional Language (CTESL or equivalent)
- Experience working in a multi-discipline / student services setting
- Demonstrated successful experience in working with newcomer students with English as an Additional Language

learning needs and from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated awareness of cross-cultural issues and of the settlement challenges that newcomer students face
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver a multi-level language and literacy program using sheltered instructional

techniques and other resource approaches
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver individualized programming and alternative learning experiences
- Experience co-teaching, co-planning, mentoring and developing/delivering professional development experiences
