**PBM-limited** is seeking to hire a **Licensed / Lead Carpenter**:A lead carpenter is defined as a craftsman with extensive skills and experienced level throughout rough and finish carpentry over a minimum period of five years, in residential and commercial construction. He / she also is able to manage smaller job sites with our own employees and trade contractors under the direction of the Management of the company.

**Job Requirements & Education**: High School Graduate; Carpenter License: Red SealRequired Safety Courses: Safety Orientation, WHIMIS, First Aid / CPR, Fall Protection Valid driver’s license (with good driving record)
Willing to travel to job site within 30 min of the greater Halifax
Willing to work 45 hours a week, 7:30 to 5:00 pm.

**Overall Responsibilities**:The lead carpenter is responsible for the successful completion of the assigned jobs or tasks given to him / her. This includes being on time, on budget, and maintaining a high level of quality. In addition to being a framing and finish carpenter, he or she should exhibit good judgment, high ethical standards, good communication skills. Beside strong leadership abilities the perfect lead carpenter is aggressive to get the job done, while being considerate and organized. Expected to check the job site for safety hazards and notify management.

**Extensive Knowledge**:Of residential new construction and remodeling older homes as well as sub
- trades, practices and procedures, latest technologies, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, costs control, safety and applicable building codes: - _Proficient at blue print reading; _- _Able to do a framing layout for walls, floor systems and roof trusses; _- _Finishing of all projects, like new homes, additions or remodeling; _- _Ability to draw appropriate sketches to communicate details; _- _Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material and labor estimates._

**Specific skills include**:Hands-on carpentry under supervision of a Journeyman carpenter. Must ensure adherence to safety standards and ability to work well within our team. Experience & understanding of basic hand and power tools. We have a full Company Safety Program with NSCSA. The applicants must be willing to travel to job site within the greater Halifax area and be willing to work 45 hours a week, 7:30 to 5:00 pm.

**Own Tools and Equipment**: steel safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses / goggles, tool belt with all hand tools as well as valid driver license and own vehicle.

**Comeptitive Pay Rate**:will vary by experience and knoledge. PBM-limited offers a full benefit plan package including health, dental and life insurance, etc.

**Salary**: $26.00-$34.00 per hour
