Stradco Construction is a young, dynamic and growing company that specializes in civil works, including sidewalks and curbs, sewers and waterworks. Focusing mainly on public contracts in the greater Montreal area, the team tackles various challenges with each new project.
Stradco Construction is looking for an experienced foreman to lead the civil works team - sewer and waterworks with eagerness and passion.
Brief description of the position
In collaboration with the project manager, the foreman must lead the team on the job site and manage the tasks related to the execution of project.
Main responsabilities
Personnel management

Lead, supervise, motivate and plan the work of the assigned team according to plans and specifications, schedules and budgets
Evaluate personnel assigned
Identify best practices to optimize team performance and productivity while ensuring the production of high-quality work
Verify and sign off on staff and equipment scheduling
Ensure the non-abusive use of the fleet and equipment by site personnel
Encourage good working relationships and team spirit

Site management

Ensure a constant and timely supply of materials to construction crew
Verify the materials and supplies delivered to the job site and approve the delivery slips
Ensure proper storage and identification of materials and supplies to facilitate their location and presentation
Ensure that the work meets the clients' requirements
Maintain good relationships with the site supervisor while keeping the company's best interests in mind
Work closely with project manager to ensure that the site runs smoothly
Issue site memos and submit them

to the project manager
Ensure the physical organization of the site and its cleanliness
Plan equipment and personnel needed for the execution of the project in collaboration with the management team
Make requisitions for equipment and machinery necessary for project execution
Follow up with subcontractors when required
Review plans and specifications prior to execution and advise the project manager of any irregularities found
Attend project kick-off meetings
Communicate with other foremen to understand the needs of other active job sites to ensure optimal use of manpower, machinery and equipment
Ensure that the teams follow health and safety standards on the work sites

Clerical duties

Complete daily reports with productions against the docket

Secondary tasks

Contribute, through his/her attitude, to the development of an environment conducive to teamwork
Perform other various tasks as required and as directed by management
Establish individual developmental objectives and see to the improvement of skills, knowledge of tools and procedures, following the evaluation process with management
Collaborate in the evaluation of the manpower on site and recommend the necessary trainings to further develop team skillset
