**Characteristic Duties**: Under the supervision of the Business Development Officer and the day-to-day direction of the Curator.

1. Develop and implement tactical day-to-day maintenance of the Greater Sudbury Museums’ website and social media accounts. Copyright and author content for websites.
2. Monitor the Greater Sudbury Museums’ website for proper functioning, accuracy, and compliance with the City of Greater Sudbury’s (CGS) French Language Services Policy and web content accessibility guidelines and assist in identifying and implementing solutions for related concerns.
3. Assist in the development of marketing and communications materials, including research and drafting of content for review by relevant museum services staff.
4. Assist the Curator with organizing and digitizing existing permanent collection paper documentation (e.g., filing, data entry), including digitizing the permanent collection documents and photographs (e.g., scanning).
5. Responsible for the Integrated Pest Management Program at the four (4) CGS museum sites, including responsibility for ensuring that the contracted service provider is maintaining regular site visits, providing access to each of the facilities and making recommendations related to program changes.
6. Assist the Curator with inventory and the cataloging of the permanent collection.
7. Assist the Curator with cleaning and reorganizing permanent collection storage areas.
8. Assist the Curator with transfers of permanent collection objects from one storage area to another.
9. Answer enquiries from the general public regarding City of Greater Sudbury museums and their hours of operation, upcoming events, facility rentals, and the location of various historical resources (e.g., CGS museums, libraries and archives).
11. Assist with executing partnership activities and event support (e.g., various event planning logistics, setup, and tear down, workshops, educational seminars, programming, etc.).
12. Assist the Curator with the installation of exhibitions.
13. Assist the Curator with CGS museum tours and programs.
14. In the absence of the Curator, fill the Curator position in an acting capacity.
15. Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS’ Safety Manual and the applicable provincial legislation listed therein.
16. Perform other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- College diploma in a related discipline (e.g., Museum Studies, Conservation, Museology, History and Indigenous Studies, etc.) from a recognized college with Canadian accreditation.
- Ontario Museum Association certification considered an asset.
- Over one (1) year up to and including two and a half (2½) years of experience in a similar job or related work.
- Any related experience (e.g., working at local museums, working with historical objects, conducting historical research, etc.) considered an asset.
- Demonstrate discretion and ability to work with sensitive materials.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to understand and meet the needs of patrons.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of content management systems and software, and their related processes.
- Knowledge of website authoring software, hardware, and their related processes.
- Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
- French verbal skills highly desirable; written skills an asset.
- Verbal and written knowledge of other languages (Italian, Finnish, German, Polish, Ukrainian, Ojibwe, etc.) an asset.
- Geographical and historical knowledge of the City of Greater Sudbury an asset.
- Satisfactory health, attendance, and former employment history.
- Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver’s license, have an acceptable driving record, and personal insurance coverage.
