Smitty’s Fine Furniture is a third-generation family-owned local furniture store specializing in Canadian-made quality furniture. Our passion is exceptional customer experience in every aspect of our business. For over 75 years Smitty’s has been a trusted name in home furnishings in Southern Ontario. We value our loyal customer base, as well as our deeply experienced staff, some of whom have been on our team for decades. Our original location was based in Hanover, Ontario and we are now operating from Hanover, Kitchener and Barrie.
**About the Position**
The Customer Service Associate supports the team in ensuring that every customer who enters the store is given the best possible customer experience. This position will support customers in The Unloading Dock (clearance centre) with purchases of outdoor and home furnishings. The Customer Service Associate also performs coverage for the Reception desk. This position is a part time position scheduled every weekend over the summer months.

**Your primary resp**onsibilities will be**:
- Engaging and fostering customer relationships with customers who arrive in store
- Answering the phone and assigning customers to available Sales Associates
- Working with customers to support their decision on BBQ or furniture purchase from The Unloading Dock
- Maintain a pulse on product information
- Participate in training sessions held by product reps
- Placing orders in our point-of-sale system and maintaining contact with customer for updates on lead times
- Provide customer post-delivery follow up and ensuring service matters or order changes are attended to promptly
- Provide back-up support for reception and showroom sales consultants
**Your** **Education, **Skills**, and Experience**:
- Completion of or in process of completing high-school and or college certificate or diploma
- 1+ years of experience in a customer service, administration and sales
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills,
- Excellent communication (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Basic math and accounting skills
- Proficient using Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail
