**What You Will be Doing**:
As a Design Student, you will be a FortisAlberta ambassador with a desire for analysis, problem solving and helping others. You are an enthusiastic, hardworking individual with a positive attitude who will receive hands-on experience which will help you develop your technical and leadership abilities. You will work with, and be mentored by, our most seasoned professionals, while working in a very diverse work environment. In this role you will act as a champion for the FortisAlberta brand, committed to providing exceptional customer service.
FortisAlberta values the student experience. In this role you will gain four months of intensive, hands-on work txperience, learning from our experienced leaders what it takes to power Alberta communities as you support our team.
**Position Responsibilities**:
- Confirm scope, prepare or provide input to estimates on distribution projects. Work with project data in SAP, AM/FM and the project management tool.
- Training on stake and locate new services
- Use of computer software to complete technical calculations to validate design.
- Display superior analytical and problem solving skills.
- Have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport and connections with key stakeholders and team members.
- Have the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively as part of a large team. Independently be able to make decisions during high volume periods and often stressful conditions. Have well-developed communication skills.
- Have a proven track record in continuous improvement - challenge the 'status quo' and provide sound recommendations to improve processes.
- Demonstrated ability in sound judgment, critical thinking & problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret various land agreements and associated documentation.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
