- Knowledge acquisition through interdisciplinary creative practice that intersects with drawing and painting within a contemporary context.
- Students in responsible image-making that takes into consideration positionality, cultural responsibility and accountability.

**SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Teach primarily in the Drawing and Painting programming but will have complimentary teaching strengths in other programs areas within Faculty of Art and Graduate Studies
- Maintain an active research and professional practice relevant to the Drawing and Painting Program;
- Support the full expression of OCAD U students’ diverse identities through decolonizing, diverse, inclusive, and equitable pedagogies
- Perform course outline development, studio preparation, and course delivery inclusive of lectures, critiques, grading, mid-term evaluations and final evaluations/reviews, including responsibility for health & safety and meeting academic and curricular requirements and deadlines
- Provide service to the program, Faculty, and University-wide governance system, as well as participate in building the University community and promoting the quality of student life and University culture

**QUALIFICATION**
- A terminal degree or equivalent in relevant disciplines; practice-based PhD and/or an MFA in studio art or equivalent; exceptions may be considered based upon outstanding career achievement.
- Demonstrated ability or potential to teach at the post-secondary level and show an aptitude for innovative curriculum development and delivery; previous experience teaching one of the art disciplines, as well as an affinity for cross-disciplinary dialogue and collaboration - published writings on art would be considered an asset.
- Supervision of graduate students in a post-secondary institution is considered an asset.
- A notable record of recognized professional practice relevant to Drawing and Painting; a lived experience and/or a solid theoretical/conceptual understanding of intersectional racialized and/or Indigenous epistemologies in this field is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with and respect for the diverse range of current issues in contemporary art and post-secondary education.
- Experience proactively advancing decolonization, diverse, inclusive, and equitable approaches to curriculum and teaching, professional activities and/or scholarship, and community building.
- A demonstrated understanding of the ways in which equity, Indigenous knowledge, and sustainability are fundamental to the quality of student experience and to innovative scholarship.
- A proven record of promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment for students, staff, and faculty

**REMUNERATION**

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications with access to full benefits and pension contribution after one year of service.
