**Our Team**
Vale continues to invest in innovation and technology to transform its business by improving safety and productivity and strengthen its reputation in mining leadership. One of Vale’s boldest investments and commitments to innovation is the new Integrated Remote Operations Centre located at its North Atlantic Operations Centre in Sudbury, Ontario.
Through new digital connectivity, this state-of-the-art centralized control centre - better known as iROC - will connect leaders and frontline workers across all seven of Vale’s Canadian mines. Not only will the iROC team strengthen communications across our mining operations, iROC will also be a cornerstone in real-time data collection and analytics to support robust decision making in planning and execution. This 24/7 continuous data feed will drive agile action plans in real-time, improving shift productivity and adherence to plans. iROC will also improve safety by reducing emergency response time through enhanced location awareness and by facilitating the active monitoring of hazards such as seismicity.
**The Opportunity**
We are currently seeking an **iROC Tech & Governance, Superintendent **to join our **iROC, North Atlantic Mines Team, **in **Sudbury, Ontario **. This is a **permanent **position.
The **iROC Tech & Governance Superintendent **will lead the sustainability and governance of all iROC operating model technology, management of all iROC data and reporting tools as well as data reporting key indicators for analysis and continuous divisional mine improvements. This leader will be accountable to manage and coach iROC Data & Reporting Specialists and Analysts, leading iROC daily reporting routines, which will support coaching on shift-planning, assisting operational leads and supervisors on problem solving, and validating end-of-shift data and reports.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Understands the key stakeholders at the site and engages them as directed by the iROC Management Operating System (MOS).
- Leads and governs iROC tech tools and data reporting for analysis and continuous divisional mine improvements.
- Provides direct leadership, training and development for all iROC Data & Reporting Specialists and Analysts and supports setting expectations and key routines.
- Organize and support the integration of the iROC Data & Reporting Specialists and Analysts into our North Atlantic mine operations.
- Setup key routine meetings with the site to ensure quality of data and help troubleshoot any technological gaps or roadblocks for iROC’s participation in site routine meetings.
- Accountable for the refinement of data, reporting and tech tools by leveraging learnings from the project implementation.
- Encourages the tracking and communication of any data, reporting and technological wins or value generated for broader organization awareness.
**About You**
**Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a related discipline.
**Experience**:
- Minimum of 8 years of underground mining, planning, and scheduling, project management or maintenance experience.
**Skills**:
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Change Management knowledge and/or training
- Critical thinking skills, taking ownership for the whole.
- Strong Interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Must be skilled in data analysis and problem solving.
- Must have strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability influence without authority.
- Knowledge of integrated operations planning and scheduling best practices and systems. Underground mining, scheduling, underground mine design, mining engineering, mine geology, maintenance knowledge is considered an asset.
- Ability to analyze detailed data and effectively communicate learnings and observations at a high level with broader audience members.
