Medical Imaging Navigator - VH

The Medical Imaging Navigator is a member of the Patient Care Team who actively strives to serve as a patient advocate, educator and support person for Medical Imaging. The Clinical Navigator will work closely with an interdisciplinary team that includes the emergency department, inpatient floor, office of capacity management, radiologists and the Medical Imaging Department. The Clinical Navigator will facilitate the seamless transition for patients from the emergency department and inpatient floors to medical imaging services.

The Clinical Navigator facilitates efficient patient flow and promotes high-quality health-care services, working with standardized imaging guidelines to ensure seamless and timely access to Medical Imaging exam

Temporary Full-Time

Rate of Pay: $41.12 per hour to $51.39 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Duration: End date March 31, 2025

**Qualifications**:

- Successful completion of an undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Nursing or Medical Radiation Sciences
- Current certificate of registration from a college recognized under the Regulated Health Professionals Act
- Proof of certificate of completion of the Patient Navigator and/or lean certification preferred
- Minimum five (5) years of recent, related experience
- Medical imaging experience preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Imaging modalities
- Advanced critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative partnerships
- Proficient people management skills
- Proficient with computer skills including Cerner, Power chart and First Net
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated knowledge of local and regional health care systems
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Vision, Purpose and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:
Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
- Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health’s current definition of being fully vaccinated
