**Position Overview**:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Buyer will play a crucial role at Ergonofis, You’ll manage vendor relations and oversee inventory and purchasing. This includes negotiating with suppliers, forecasting sales, placing orders, and ensuring inventory levels are optimized. You'll also develop strategies to enhance supplier efficiency and maintain high standards for product quality and sustainability.
**Day-to-Day Tasks**:
- Manage vendor relations, including existing and new contract negotiations.
- Forecast sales for existing and new products.
- Place and track purchase orders.
- Manage inventory levels at warehouses across Canada and the US.
- Review product quality reports
**Inventory Management (60%)**:
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to create forecasts.
- Analyze sales velocity to aid in product development.
- Develop purchasing plans with the inventory management team to predict warehouse space requirements.
- Place orders (PO) with suppliers and ensure receipts match POs and invoices (3-way match).
- Review safety stock of replacement parts in collaboration with customer service
**Supplier Relationship Management (40%)**:
- Source and negotiate with new suppliers, both domestic and international, to support new product development.
- Continuously review existing vendors to increase efficiencies.
- Develop and implement a Supplier Code of Conduct, focusing on reliability, quality, and sustainable development.
- Develop commodity strategies aligned with Ergonofis' business needs based on product strategy (5-year lineup), manufacturing strategy, volume & mix, and economic and supplier reality.
**Requirements and Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Logistics, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Graduate degree in Supply Chain is an asset.
- 2+ years of experience in contract negotiations, purchasing, and logistics.
- Experience in consumer and commercial furniture is an asset.
- Bilingual (English and French).
- In-depth knowledge of SRM, strategic purchasing, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Proficiency in Office 365 including Excel
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a team in a multi-functional environment.
- Quick understanding of the technical aspects of products and manufacturing environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle unforeseen circumstances.
