**Production Manager
**POSITION OVERVIEW**

The Production Manager leads the instrumentation production team and oversees manufacturing (assembly, integration, and testing) processes, ensuring safety, quality, and efficient, timely delivery of products.

Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and monitoring production activities, managing staff (through team leads), optimizing resources, and implementing continuous improvement. Strong people leadership and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Supervise and motivate production teams, fostering a positive working environment and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Work closely with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and maintenance, to streamline operations and address any issues.
- Develop production plans and schedules to meet delivery deadlines, considering resource allocation and capacity.
- Efficiently allocate personnel, equipment, and materials to optimize production processes.
- Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
- Manage production budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain financial efficiency.
- Continuously improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase overall productivity.
- Oversee inventory levels, coordinate with procurement, and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
- Address production issues promptly, implement corrective actions, and prevent future challenges.
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations, health & safety standards, and company policies throughout the production process.
- Facilitate clear communication between various teams, providing updates on production status and addressing concerns.
- Identify skill gaps within the production team and implement training programs to enhance staff capabilities.
- Stay informed about technological advancements and implement relevant tools to improve production efficiency.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and evaluate production performance.
- Prepare regular reports for upper management, summarizing production activities, challenges, and achievements Other Duties as assigned my management.**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION**
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant field (Engineering or Operations Management) and minimum of 5 years work experience in a related role.
- Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with leadership responsibilities
- Strong understanding of production processes and quality control measures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Structured problem-solving (e.g. 5 Why, 8D) and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols.
- Proficient in using relevant software and tools for production planning and tracking.
- Experience using Epicor ERP is an asset.
- Lean Manufacturing experience is a definite asset.
