**SUMMARY**

The Knowledge Translation (KT) Program is currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Research Assistant I (RAI) to join the dynamic and growing program in a full time (1.0 FTE) position. The successful applicant will provide administrative support and research coordination within the Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR) Evidence Alliance initiative of the KT Program. The SPOR Evidence Alliance is a pan-Canadian research initiative that supports capacity-building, coordination, and administration of decision-maker driven knowledge synthesis, guidelines, and knowledge translation projects across Canada.

This role will require interaction with diverse research groups across Canada from different backgrounds including those with expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods. The research assistant will support the day-to-day operations of the SPOR Evidence Alliance, which can entail scheduling meetings, preparing meeting material, preparing briefing notes, managing social media accounts (e.g., curating posts, responding to posts), managing website content, preparing presentations, maintaining and updating internal policies, onboarding new members, stakeholder engagement, as well as supporting project documentation and team functions. High degree of attentional to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. This position will offer the successful applicant a challenging and rewarding experience in a collaborative work environment.

**Duties/ Responsibilities**
- _Administrative Duties (60%)_
- Performs general office duties (i.e., electronic filing)
- Maintains calendars, and manages complex scheduling requests.
- Develops correspondence and other relevant documentation, including letters, memos, reports, invoices, abstracts, forms etc. to support the activities of the research team and Principal Investigator.
- Creates and reviews slides for webinars, written study reports, scientific meetings, and conferences.
- Organizes video/teleconference meetings, including contacting attendees, and preparing meeting materials.
- Participates in database processing and management.
- Coordinates communication between team, and external partners.
- Prepares REB/CTO submissions relative to the initiation and conduct of research. Registers study protocols.
- Collects conflict of interest forms.
- Manages all social media presence (Twitter), newsletter release and website.
- Assist with tracking and updating documentation such as dissemination lists, patient and public partner engagement, project progress, publications and other knowledge product inventories
- _ Research Activities (40%)_
- Coordinate research activities in collaboration with the team (including general project management, timelines and deliverables)
- Develop and maintain records of project activities and prepare periodic reports as required by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies
- Assist with design and preparation of all source documents, edit/format scientific papers for peer-reviewed publication (including the use of reference citation management software), technical reports for stakeholders, and presentations
- Involved with preparations of reports and evaluations
- Assist with data analysis, as needed

**Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills**
- Bachelors degree in Public Health Sciences, Social Sciences (e.g. [medical] sociology, [medical] anthropology, psychology), Bioethics, Clinical Sciences (e.g. nursing, social work, allied health) or a related field is an required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment
- Proficient in document management, in both electronic and hard copy forms
- Able to follow written and verbal directions
- Exceptional organizational and coordination skills, including the ability to set priorities, monitor progress towards goals, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and achieve results within clearly specified timelines.
- Experience in formatting and preparing presentations, reports, and papers
- Experience in a health care related setting is an asset
- Ability to work from home to comply with COVID-19 measures (e.g., access to phone, internet, etc.), as required
