On the floor with the sales team, our Assistant Retail Store Manager is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the store, is a team leader, loves to sell and is committed to providing legendary customer service. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- **Sales/Profitability/Merchandizing**_
- Assist Store Manager in continuously evaluating sales performance and inventory turnover to help meet monthly and quarterly sales goals.
- Assist in managing labor and payroll expenses to maximize sales and profitability.
- Support store marketing events and grow relationships in the community to generate brand awareness and drive traffic.
- Maintain current and up to date knowledge on market product and sales trends.
- Manage monthly and seasonal merchandising.
- **Leadership/Team Management**_
- Assist Store Manager by ensuring store staff has the knowledge and skills to meet sales goals; to provide exceptional customer experience; and build brand loyalty.
- Monitor, coach and provide guidance to the store team to deliver an elevated customer experience.
- Assist Store Manager in training, mentoring, and retaining a high performing sales team.
- Assist Store Manager with quarterly staff self-evaluations and mid-year reviews.
- Promote an environment that encourages participation, creativity, and learning by building on best practices.
- **Brand Experience/Customer Service**_
- Ensure our customers receive Red Wings’ legendary ultimate fit experience and elevate their overall customer experience.
- Ensure excellence in customer service by monitoring customer feedback and responding to and addressing all customer concerns quickly.
- Build and cultivate long term customer relationships and lead the team to do the same.
- Model behavior that respects the background, experience, and cultural differences of others, while upholding the integrity and values of Red Wing Shoe Company.
- **Operations**_
- Assist Store Manager in planning for and achieving excellence in staffing, scheduling, monthly reports, cash management and inventory management.
- Assist Store Manager in ensuring that the store’s inventory integrity is maintained through proper shipping and receiving procedures, quarterly inventory counts, and by communicating concerns directly to the management team.
- Provide shoe cleaning and conditioning services, minor repairs, and coordinate warranty work with local partners.
- Ensure compliance with all store standards, policies, and initiatives.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with the management team to ensure ongoing operational excellence.
- **Qualifications**_
- High energy, enthusiastic and motivated demeanor.

- Exceptional customer service skills customers.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and retain talent is essential.
- Hands-on knowledge of principles and methods for demonstrating, promoting, and selling products.
- Dependability and flexibility with scheduled work shifts, including weekends.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills that yield results.
- Effective communication style with all levels of an organization including store employees and the management team.
- High School Education and 1+ year’s retail management experience including budget and sales goals management.
- Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook, and Point of Sales systems - preferred
- Footwear sales experience - preferred
- **Physical Demands**_
- Lifting 50 pounds
- Climbing a ladder
- Bending/stooping/kneeling required
- Routine standing for duration of shift (up to 8 hours)
- Store maintenance duties including but not limited to vacuuming, mopping floors, washing windows and setting up and maintaining displays.
