**Responsibilities**:
- Setting up dining areas before meals which includes but not limited to cleaning up dishes and cutlery including tables and meal service areas and related equipment, e.g. Steam table.
- Serving of food and beverages such as but not limited to sets up meal trays; transporting food to dining rooms; serving meals and beverages; meeting residents needs by responding to requests.
- Cleaning dishes and pots including kitchen area.
- Maintains a high level of cleanliness and sanitation within the dining room(s) and kitchen by following scheduled cleaning routines and cleaning guidelines for equipment.
- Ensure current knowledge of Elder/Tenant diets, likes and dislikes and any other dietetic requirements.
- Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner and maintains work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
- Ability to work days, evenings and weekends shifts as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Education or equivalent
- Previous work experience in food services or hospitality an asset
- Current Food Handler Training Certificate or equivalent Food Sanitation course
- Some work experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen desirable
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
- Mental and physical health to meet demands of position.
- Able to follow direction from multiple individuals.
