**About Us**:
The Department of Psychiatry is a diverse, city-wide, clinical academic department at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry (SSMD). The department encompasses the University, London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), St. Joseph’s Health Care, London (SJHC), London and St. Thomas, and the Child and Parent Resources Institute (CPRI). The vision for the Department of Psychiatry is to be the acknowledged Centre of Excellence for psychiatric care and discovery in South Western Ontario with a mission to translate clinical research into treatment and provide regional consultation within interdisciplinary models of care. The mission or primary objectives of the DDD are to enhance and facilitate research and medical education in the area of developmental disabilities.

**Responsibilities**:
The Program Coordinator, Developmental Disabilities Program is responsible for the management of educational, research, and financial aspects of the Program. Along with the Program Chair, the Coordinator sets priorities, directions, and goals for education and research within the Program. The role assists with the alignment of resources to best support the achievement of the program objectives, and facilitates the budget development and monitoring processes. The Program Coordinator contributes to developing strategies related to program initiatives, and ensures the successful implementation of all aspects of the program. The role ensures that medical students, residents, primary care physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals within the programs have the necessary support, information, documentation, resources, and other related policies and procedures. Ultimately, the Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the Program functions optimally in order to achieve its goals.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Undergraduate Degree in Social Sciences or Business Preferred

**Experience**:

- 5 years administrative and financial experience in a clinical environment and experience with electronic databases (e.g. PubMed, Western Library)
- Experience in survey research methods and statistics
- Knowledge of, and experience in, a post secondary academic environment preferably at the university level

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Demonstrated analytical ability with a working knowledge of key financial and accounting principles
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and dual diagnosis health and
- community services and systems
- Knowledge of safety protocols in hospitals and post secondary academic settings
- Knowledge of university and hospitals’ policies and procedures, administrative structures and reporting relationships in a clinical setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of accreditation for educational events for physicians and specialists
- Demonstrated knowledge of resources in development disabilities/dual diagnosis in order to work independently of the Chair
- Ability to research and collect information and articles using proxy library servers for online databases
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
- Knowledge of research and development services at Western, the ROLA system, ethics protocols at Western and Lawson Health Research Institute
- Strong customer service skills to handle enquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to process information with high levels of accuracy using strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fluid and challenging work environment with changing deadlines
- A strong record of teamwork with the motivation and ability to work independently with little supervision
- Possesses a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative
- Proven ability and natural inclination to interact with people at all levels of an organization in a professional, respectful, and diplomatic manner
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Creative problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment, especially regarding confidential/sensitive matters
