Reporting to the Senior Manager, Education and Training, the Program Academic Advisor provides an on-site lead role in academic counseling and/or educational and training support services for students attending IRC E-Learning Centre Sunchild Program and/or education programs (classroom and on-line delivery programs).

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Leads the delivery of the IRC E-Learning Sunchild Program.
- Liaises with internal and external partners to ensure the program is delivered against goals and objectives.
- Develops and coordinates student activities on topics such as note-taking, text anxiety, test preparation strategies and time-management skills.
- Prepares bi-weekly reports on student attendance and academic achievements and discusses progress with each student, the E-Learning Committee and others as the program requires (E.g., on-line instructors).
- Prepares bi-weekly pay requests and back-up documents for student pay.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-Secondary education, preferably a degree in Education or Social Sciences is preferred.
- Two years of experience delivering training programs and providing guidance to learners in an academic or training-related setting.
- Experience liaising with educational groups or institutions and hands-on academic program management experience would be considered assets.
- Client-service orientation.
- Ability to prepare written communications that are clear and concise.
- Knowledge of the local community.
- Mentorship: is considered by learners to be a positive and supportive coach and mentor and has the ability to assist students in setting clear objectives and removing roadblocks.
- The incumbent may be required to travel.
