Ten Ten Sinclair Housing Inc. is a non-profit consumer driven organization that provides housing and attendant services to support people with physical disabilities to live independently in the community.

**JOB SUMMARY**

The Assistant Maintenance Engineer has overall responsibility for supporting the Manager of Building Services manage the physical portfolio of about 150 housing units in four properties. The position has responsibility for: the management of repairs, maintenance and upgrades; management of caretaking, snow removal, third party contractors, and; direct responsibilities with tenants. This position also has limited duties as relief coverage for holidays of the Manager of Building Services and may be required to work evenings and weekends due to building needs or problems.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide stripping, burnishing, buffing, cleaning, and waxing of apartments, hallways, offices and common hallway areas throughout the complex.
- Remove garbage from grounds and interior areas of the complex as well as exchanging of the refuse bins on a weekly basis.
- Remove snow entries and exits at all sites as required throughout the winter months.
- Vacuum common hallways and areas within the complex as needed.
- Do minor repairs to apartments, which includes painting, drywall repairs, washing windows, and some carpentry.
- Do repairs to plumbing fixtures as needed.
- Service garden equipment as requested by the Manager of Building Services.
- Do heavy lifting to move appliances and apartment furnishings.
- Assist the Manager of Building Services when requested for ongoing repair to building systems, and equipment.
- On Call duties for coverage purposes with the Manager of Building Services.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Experience with building maintenance and repair - minor plumbing, minor electrical, painting, and drywall.
- An understanding of electrical, mechanical, and structural building components.
- Ability to follow WHMIS and Workplace Safety & Health policies.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of private information.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and building security software.
- Ability to address tenant issues, work with the public and staff in a courteous manner.
- Fifth Class Power Engineering Certificate is an asset.
- Successful criminal records and vulnerable persons check is required.
- Must have own vehicle.

**Salary**: $20.29-$20.91 per hour
