**Child & Youth Worker Assistant**

**3 month contract**

The Jerome D. Diamond (JDD) Adolescent Centre, a branch of Jewish Family and Child Service is looking for a **Child & Youth Worker Assistant **to assist in providing direct services, within an effective treatment program, to adolescents during the school year. The JDD Adolescent Centre is a children’s mental health centre that provides support to youth with educational, emotional and/or behavioural challenges.** **This position is also responsible for administrative supports and coordination to ensure the day-to-day operation of the JDD Centre. _This is a temporary three (3) month contract position from September to November, 2023._

**About The Agency**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist the CYW(s) in supporting the academic instruction of students, including providing treatment (care, coaching and counselling) to youth on a daily basis.
- Collaborate with CYW(s) in the development, implementation, reviewing, and monitoring of treatment plans for youth in conjunction with their family and JDD team.
- Follow up on any attendance issues this includes tracking down and recording absence in accordance with TDSB’s Safe School Policy.
- Assist in the planning and participate in activity/recreation based programing and physical education such as yoga, art therapy, cooking, CBT etc.
- Maintain accurate and timely client related documentation for internal and external record keeping in accordance with professional standards, the Agency and Day Treatment Policy.
- Perform a variety of administrative duties in support of the JDD’s programs, CYW’s and teachers, such as coordinating meetings, writing minutes, ordering office supplies, and general administrative duties.
- Prepare various JDD related documentation such as information packages, admission documentation, back to school packages, holiday lists, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- CYW or equivalent post-secondary diploma/degree
- CYW experience in a Day Treatment Program would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of community needs and resources
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills and within with Microsoft Office Package (Outlook, Excel and Word), databases, and client databases.
- Comprehension of French or another language will be considered an asset
