Company Overview:
Tree Time Services is a leading provider of reforestation and horticulture seedlings and associated services, committed to delivering high-quality products and services to our clients across Canada. With a focus on sustainability and environmental stewardship, we and our partners in the Coast 2 Coast Reforestation Co-op operate across multiple locations, including six forest nurseries and two cold-storage warehouses.

Tree Time is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Director to oversee and direct our production, logistics and infrastructure functions at our Beaumont tree and shrub nursery and our Edmonton cold storage facility.

Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the President as part of the Executive Team, the Production Director will be responsible for ensuring cost-effective and reliable seedling production, efficient logistics and order fulfillment, and optimal infrastructure and fleet management. This role will involve collaborating with various departments to coordinate production activities and support overall company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee and direct production and infrastructure functions to ensure cost-effective and reliable seedling production and delivery.
- Lead coordination between production teams and other departments to facilitate seamless operations.
- Support, direct, and coach production and maintenance managers in setting and monitoring production targets, tracking progress, and reporting to the executive team.
- Lead planning and budgeting for production and maintenance operations, including cost and resource analysis, infrastructure planning, and capital expenditures.
- Manage supplier and contractor relationships for fleet, equipment, and facilities.
- Collaborate with the VP of Operations to ensure alignment between greenhouse, logistics, and reclamation operations.
- Work with the VPs of Marketing & Sales to ensure production meets customer needs and market demand.
- Collaborate with the Financial Controller to analyze costs and operations and develop operational budgets.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and training at all worksites.

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in a management role overseeing multiple supervisors and direct reports.
- Experience in a director or executive-level role, preferably managing other managers.
- Experience with planning and budgeting for operations or projects exceeding $2 million.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Understanding of basic accounting methods and processes.
- Experience in reforestation or horticulture nurseries, warehousing, shipping, logistics, or other manufacturing/production environments is an asset.

Additional Information:

- Location: Sherwood Park Office with travel to other local worksites: 10-20% of time each at Tree Time Cold Storage (Edmonton) and Tree Time Greenhouses (Beaumont)
- Work Schedule: Full-time, typically 40 to 44 hours per week, with some seasonal variation and flexibility in hours.
- Travel: Occasional travel (4-6 times per year) to other worksites, partner nurseries, events, trade shows, and conferences may be required.
- Safety: Compliance with and enforcement of safety policies, procedures, and training is mandatory.
