**SUMMARY**:Under the direction of the Fitness Coordinator, West Shore Parks & Recreation Society is looking
for enthusiastic, motivated individuals with a passion for health, fitness, and bringing the very best to our
community. The successful individual must be able to do either role and will be scheduled to do one or the
other and will be compensated based on the role they are performing. Below is a description of the roles:
**The Weightroom Attendant **ensures that patrons are using the facility and equipment in a safe manner and
creates a safe and healthy environment for participants who use the facility. The attendant also promotes
weight training and fitness programs and services. Demonstrated experience in public relations and in dealing
with difficult situations in a positive, courteous and effective manner; demonstrated ability to work co
- operatively in a team environment as well as to work independently. Opportunities to instruct weight training
classes/workshops or personal training may be available based on organization needs and providing the

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Current registration as a BCRPA strength trainer, personal trainer or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Minimum one-year experience in a weightroom setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills required.
- Demonstrated experience in public relations and in dealing with difficult situations in a positive,

courteous and effective manner.
- Current Emergency First Aid & CPR C.
- Ability to provide a safe and healthy environment, which encourages participation for all members.
- Ability to work co-operatively in a team environment, as well as to work independently.
- Must be positive, enthusiastic with the ability to lead and motivate participants.***
- Prior experience in lesson planning is required.
