**Unit Desription**:
This position is responsible for efficiently developing, implementing and maintaining communications, engagement, recruitment and promotional activities within the undergraduate Integrated Biomedical Engineering & Health Sciences (iBioMed) Program to enhance the student experience. The iBioMed program is an integrated program within the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Health Sciences. The position will be responsible for liaising with various internal and external stakeholders, such as faculty members, instructors, staff, students, clinicians, and industry experts from both faculties. The key function of the position will be to contribute to the design and implementation of workshops, seminars, and presentations to engage in-course students, based on research, sound methodology and an understanding of student experiences and needs in response to faculty and student requests.

**Job Summary**:
Responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of communications, engagement, recruitment and promotion initiatives to engage in-course students and attract applicants to an academic program. Also responsible for the development and delivery of events, workshops/seminars, programs and services to assist students in areas of skill development and experiential learning for the purpose of enhancing the student experience. Builds strategic alliances and liaises with faculty, staff, student groups, student governments, and the greater community to create a culture of collaboration and partnership in ensuring student success.

**Purpose and Key Functions**:

- Contribute to the design and deliver workshops and presentations based on research, sound methodology and an understanding of student experiences and needs in response to faculty and student requests.
- Design and implement evaluation strategies such as surveys, focus groups, and rubrics to measure and assess program outcomes and effectiveness.
- Develop an effective and efficient program delivery strategy including student-based models, seminars, workshops, and online resources that serve to optimize resources and service capacity.
- Liaise with various stakeholders to develop annual strategic plans regarding promotion and recruitment including promotional activities, advertising, recruitment materials, and personnel support.
- Develop project specific budgets for review and approval by management.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with campus partners and build partnerships with various stakeholders across the University and the greater community.
- Initiate collaborations and partnerships using a multi-departmental team approach in support of an integrated approach to providing services and promoting a shared approach for student success.
- Coordinate effective marketing and promotion of the program’s workshops, seminars, presentations, etc. to in-course students.
- Conduct research and market intelligence surveys.
- Collaborate with program chairs to draft student survey questionnaires and present data to program chairs.
- Write content for communication materials including departmental website.
- Develop and deliver presentations to various audiences.
- Represent the program at recruitment events and liaise with secondary school teachers, guidance counselors, prospective students, and parents.
- Plan and coordinate special events, job fairs, and visits to schools and businesses.
- Conducts program specific tours.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and program ambassadors for a variety of program events.
- Create and maintain databases to input, store, and retrieve information on prospective students.
- Update, maintain and verify database information for program participation for the purpose of program review and reporting.
- Develops and maintains social media platforms.
- Sources vendors and obtains pricing information.
- Responds independently to program inquiries.
- Remains current with frequent developments in social media platforms and trends in the communication field.

**Supervision**
- Ensures adherence to quality standards and procedures for short-term staff and volunteers.
- Ongoing responsibility for supervising up to 1-4 casual employees at any one time.

This position requires an individual capable of handling a diverse workload in a busy environment, the ability to meet multiple and simultaneous deadlines and perform equally well individually and as part of a team. The successful applicant will be expected to take initiative to improve processes and develop new processes to adapt to changing conditions.
