**The role**

We are currently looking forward to welcoming a part-time **Student Service Representative-Chinese**. You will be part of our fantastic team and report directly to the Student Service Care Manager.

You’ll be part of a team of experienced and passionate people who believe in higher education and work hard behind the scenes to help its students thrive in Canada.

**Job responsibilities**
- Maintain the reception in a tidy and presentable manner.
- Perform routine clerical duties to support the office team.
- Organize, maintain, and coordinate office records and files in their proper locations.
- Answering new student questions about essential campus services
- Conducting workshops and learning sessions about campus services
- Supporting a peer-to-peer network between new students for sharing
- Support different departments in preparing and delivery of online and in-person recruitment events such as information sessions, campus tour, webinar, student fairs, and high school visits
- Work with databases, compiling reports, and other project work as required.
- Answer general questions about student experiences with study abroad and global citizenship.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.

**About you**

A student service center representative is crucial in assisting and supporting students in various aspects of their academic journey. To be effective in this role, there are several important qualities that a student service center representative should possess:

- Empathy and Patience: Dealing with students can sometimes be challenging, as they may face academic or personal difficulties. A representative should have a compassionate and empathetic approach, demonstrating patience and understanding while working with students to address their concerns.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Student service center representatives frequently encounter various issues and problems, such as registration difficulties, scheduling conflicts, or financial concerns. They should possess strong problem-solving skills to identify and implement appropriate solutions, often collaborating with other departments or resources to resolve complex issues.
- Organization and Attention to Detail: Representatives must manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain accurate records. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary to ensure students' information is recorded correctly, documents are processed accurately, and deadlines are met.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Academic environments can be dynamic, with changing policies, technological advancements, and student needs. Representatives should be adaptable and open to learning new processes and technologies to provide up-to-date and efficient services.
- Customer Service Orientation: A student service center representative should have a customer service mindset, focusing on creating a positive and helpful experience for students. Being friendly, approachable, and proactive in assisting students can improve student satisfaction and success.
- Confidentiality and Professionalism: Dealing with student records and sensitive information requires strict adherence to confidentiality guidelines. Representatives should maintain professionalism and demonstrate ethical behaviour while handling student data and addressing their concerns.

Overall, a successful student service center representative should possess a combination of interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with a genuine desire to help students succeed academically and personally.
