Oxford Food Group is the world's largest provider of Wild Blueberries, North America's largest producers of premium, frozen carrots and one of Canada's premier manufacturer's of onion rings and battered appetizers.

Oxford Food Group has an opportunity for a CO-OP student located in Oxford, NS. The position reports to a cross-functional team within the Food Group.

**Responsibilities**:

- Proactively identify and verify manufacturing practices for efficiency and accuracy, aiming to adapt and advance processes through the implementation of innovative, safe methods that improve throughput and quality.
- Develop knowledge of our internal systems, software, and automation, including the strengths and weaknesses of our procedures, automated equipment, and key personnel contributing to product quality.
- Accurately enter and maintain data regarding Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, ensuring all information is current and accessible.
- Actively participate in team discussions focused on the development and continuous improvement of safety procedures.
- Assist in the creation and revision of safety procedures, ensuring they are in line with the latest safety standards and best practices.
- Evaluate existing safe work procedures, specifically looking at LOTO and Job Description (JD) elements, to identify potential enhancements.
- Recommend additions or modifications to our code of practice to elevate safe work practices and minimize risks.
- Work closely with multiple departments and cross-functional teams to gather input, share insights, and implement safety procedures effectively.

**Qualifications**:

- Enrolled in an accredited engineering or related program relevant
- Lean Manufacturing Techniques knowledge
- Experience in participating in a team environment
- Basic understanding of advanced manufacturing

Oxford Frozen Foods requires all employees to have an active role in organizational sustainability initiatives including,
- Correctly divert waste to support Zero Waste initiatives
- React to green wastes (wasted energy and water, air leaks, product leaks etc.) by submitting work orders for immediate repair
