**MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN**
**(Aurora, ON)**
We are looking for a skilled maintenance technician to install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment within our production plant. The maintenance technician’s responsibilities include performing regular inspections of machinery and equipment, carrying out preventative maintenance, and fulfilling other duties such as building maintenance as assigned.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has a practical mind, mechanical aptitude, and a strong attention to detail. Ultimately, a top-notch maintenance technician should be able to ensure that machinery and equipment are in excellent operating condition.

**Hours**:Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Monitor lines to ensure equipment is functioning normally and make any necessary adjustments where required to keep lines running safely.
- Daily Preventive and predictive Maintenance of all riveting machines/equipment, document all work performed to ensure production lines efficiently flow and are not down.
- Perform necessary repairs to equipment, to reduce component failure, identify defective components and report findings to plant manager.
- Adhere to Operational Safety protocols ensuring all equipment meets its operational safety minimum requirements e safety guards, feeders, etc.
- Inspect parts for wear, tear, and damage, replace parts if needed to produce quality products and recommend countermeasures to prevent repetitive breakdowns.
- Understand “Lock out, Tag Out” Safety systems and be able to enforce them when equipment is not safe to operate.
- Perform odd jobs around the facility i.e., hanging safety signs, fabricating parts for repairs, etc.
- Miscellaneous repairs in plant i.e., changing light bulbs, etc.
- Use hand tools and machine shop instruments/equipment safety and to OEM specifications.
- Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, locate problems and malfunctions and repair machinery, and replace defective parts.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus and fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using testing equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown and correct the problem.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices i.e., ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of the system. Advise management on whether to continue the operation of the equipment is safe for the operator or lockout required.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local code requirements.
- Document problems with sketches and detailed descriptions with communication actions.
- Maintain equipment, parts and supplies, minimum/maximum inventory of machine parts, tools, and consumables and update purchasing on required items.
- Always adhere to all plant safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain a safe and clean working area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Follow all aspects of Maintenance Safety protocol (LOTO, 5-S, Arc Flash, etc.) to ensure that the maintenance team always operates in a safe manner.
**REQUIREMENTS**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role.
- Keen mechanical skills or mechanically inclined
- Able to discern schematic and blueprint reading.
- Welding and/or electrical experience
- Knowledge of common machine tools i.e., metal lathe, bench grinder, etc.
- Ability to work on a scissor lift.
- Previous work history in maintenance and repairs positions preferred.
- Must be able to lift independently between 50 - 65 lbs. daily.
- Ability to bend, push, pull, lift, and climb throughout the day.
- Able to work with power and cutting tools, both in and outside of the facility
- Able to work with Hazardous Materials
- Mechanical aptitude and ability.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
