The incumbent works within this context to provide effective and efficient level of support and assistance.
**Program Coordinator**:
Under the authority of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation (YKDFN) Chiefs and Council Government and reporting to the Director of Environment, this position contributes to the effective operation of the YKDFN’s Department of Environment and is responsible for information flow between external organizations, internal departments, and leadership.
The Program Coordinator works closely with the Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC), Contaminants and Remediation Division (CARD) Project Managers to coordinate the YKDFN’s participation in the remediation and long-term monitoring projects occurring on the YKDFN’s Traditional Territory.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
- Post-Secondary education in Business Administration, Environmental studies and/or related disciplines and a minimum of two (2) years related work experience; and or
- Equivalent combination of education, relevant courses/training pertaining to the environmental field coupled with two (2) years’ work-related experience will be considered.
- YKDFN band members supersede all education and work experience requirements;
- Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office.
- Valid Class ‘5’ Drivers’ License and own personal vehicle an asset.
