Our diversity drives our uncompromising approach to quality and success within the Canadian recreational cannabis market.Reporting to the SVP, Strategy & Medical Exports at Village Farms International, our VP, International, Business Development will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, executing our international strategy and unlocking strategic market expansion for cannabis, globally. As a strong business development leader focused on operational excellence, you know how to maximize value and build collaborative partnerships to facilitate market entry and drive sales growth.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- ** Strategic Market Analysis and Expansion**: Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify profitable international markets for expansion. Evaluate regulatory landscapes, competitive dynamics, and market trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- ** Tailored Sales Strategies**: Develop sales strategies tailored to each target market, encompassing pricing optimization, distribution channel selection, and promotional tactics to maximize market penetration and revenue generation.
- ** Operational Excellence**: Create operational efficiencies through the development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring seamless execution and compliance with international regulations across diverse markets.
- ** Stakeholder Engagement**: Create and nurture strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, regulatory authorities, and industry partners.
- ** Results-Driven Execution**: Execute sales strategies with precision and efficiency, monitoring performance metrics, conducting sales forecasts, and implementing continuous optimization initiatives to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- ** Regulatory Compliance**: Ensure compliance with all international regulatory requirements governing the sale and distribution of medical cannabis products, navigating complex licensing, import/export regulations, and product registration processes.
- ** Contract Negotiation** and Development**: Drive negotiations to secure favourable terms and conditions, balancing the needs of stakeholders while safeguarding the interests of the company. Work closely with legal counsel to review and develop contracts, ensuring the parameters are mutually beneficial and align to the company’s objectives.

**Your Experience**
- University degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- 10+ years’ experience in account management, a B2B emphasis on international customers.
- 5+ years of executive leadership experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in a highly regulated industry, cannabis, tobacco, pharmaceutical, or liquor is a benefit.
- Previous experience with EUGMP requirements is an asset.
- Proven history of maximizing customer value, exceeding sales targets, and leading high performing teams.
