**Summary**

You are a creative and motivated self-starter, who champions change. Providing high quality People & Culture partnership and services within our Niagara location. Supporting a cross-functional workforce and management team, a strong focus is placed on employee relations, talent management and recruitment and onboarding programs. Culture, engagement, and talent are key drivers to our success. Phoena is an agile and fast paced organization that is looking for a strategic, dynamic, and engaged People & Culture Business Partner.

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Provides functional guidance, alignment, and support to leaders regarding employee relations, policies, P&C practices, and objectives.
- Have a keen understanding of the business’s strategy, providing solutions using experience, data analyses, and organizational agility to guide decision making.
- Promotes a positive, inclusive work environment through coaching and counseling employees, responding to general inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely manner and in accordance with legislation and company policies and procedures (i.e., open door, progressive discipline, investigation techniques).
- Servicing front line People & Culture Resources in Fenwick (Langstaff as required). You are client facing - point of contact for employee relations on a day-to-day basis, ensuring team employees feel heard and that action is taken when necessary.
- Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee trust and engagement.
- Advise, assist, and recommend to management performance improvement planning, disciplinary procedures and terminations for employees as needed.
- Advising on performance management and career planning.
- Communications - responsible for ensuring appropriate flow of communications to the shop floors. Maintain communication boards, look for inventive ways to promote information dissemination.
- Lead WSIB Claims Management & Return to Work Program.
- Responsible for Leave of Absence (LOA) management and return to work.
- Preparation of offer letters, contracts, job letters, etc.
- Facilitate the processing of security clearances (CPIC, RCMP check, etc.).
- Participate in the formulation of People & Culture policies, practices, and procedures; contributes to the creation of P&C Talent and development programs, communications materials, etc.
- Build relationships - actively engages with all employees in a proactive manner (department touch bases/ ‘walk the floor’) to answer questions, identify concerns.
- Support leaders with job description review and creation.
- Support the full cycle recruitment process.
- Facilitates onboarding process for new and returning employees, leads Orientation and document upload in Sage.
- Assists in the development and delivery of special projects and/or topical training programs. Build/tailor services and programs that are nimble; have a flexible approach and can grow with the business.
- Maintain the HRIS system, data entry and look for innovative ways to effectively manage processes.
- Conduct in-person / virtual Exit Interviews for Salary Band 3 & 4.
- Daily absenteeism reporting - Fenwick & Langstaff Operations.
- Coordination of training programs.
- Supports Time and Attendance in ADP, creates and distributes ADP badges.
- Support both Fenwick and Langstaff Joint Health and Safety Committees.
- Participate in other special projects and/or assignments as required.
- Additional duties as assigned.
