**POSITION INFORMATION**:
Full-time Support Staff Position Opportunity
Department: Athletics & Recreation
Hours: 35 hours per week (1) one hour lunch; Mon - Fri 6am - 2pm & 3pm - 11pm (8 hour shifts) Rotating every two weeks
Reporting To: Scott Dennis
Campus Location: Oshawa

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Facility Attendant is responsible for carrying out duties required and assisting the Director of Athletics in the effective and efficient operation of the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre and Babcock Field during the daytime and evening. Responsibilities include facility monitoring, gymnasium set-up and take down, some maintenance and minor repairs of equipment, and programming. Varsity on-site duties, special event administration and training part-time and work study staff.

**Control and Monitor Athletic Facilities and Equipment**:

- set up, take down and daily maintenance of all athletic facilities and equipment.
- assists in coordinating equipment services.
- ensure all part-time staff are prepared and trained for their respective shifts.
- coordinate the control access of all users and clients of the CRWC and Babcock Field
- must maintain a high level of student/staff/client satisfaction.

**Co-ordinate Part-time Facility Staff**:

- assists in the hiring of part-time staff and scheduling of shifts
- ensure all personnel are trained and are familiar with the departments, emergency procedures
- direct part-time staff to ensure the facility users’ needs are met
- administer part-time staff meetings to review proper rules and regulations as well as procedures necessary to operate the Athletic Centre.

**Co-ordinate Facility Memberships**:

- generate revenue through memberships
- must maintain a high level of customer/client satisfaction.

**Organize, Facilitate and Administer to Special Events**:

- co-ordinate, provide organizational input and support, provide operational service and evaluate major college special events related to set-up and the facility i.e. shows, convocation, ceremonies, high school tournaments, national and provincial championships, announcements, graduation ceremonies, scholarship ceremony, open house.
- assist in Varsity Special Events by serving on the respective organizing committees

**Varsity On-Site Responsibilities**:

- coordinate equipment changeovers, audio sound systems, playing equipment and inventory of products at the site as per Home Game operating procedures and the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association/Ontario University Athletics.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A minimum of a 1-year diploma or degree in sport management, facility management or equivalent
- A minimum of 1 year of work experience in facility management or sports industry
- Knowledge of the post-secondary sports environment

**Required Skills**:
Payband: F; Starting Rate: $31.05; Four Year Rate: $35.99
