**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Receive optimized Bill of Materials (BOM) from Production Supervisor. Check for:
- accuracy of information
- special requirements prior to cutting material
- cutting list if supplied is accurate, compare against Fabrication drawings
- Attend production meetings when / if required
- Fabricating and constructing metal components
- Check shop work orders to ensure they are being completed in a timely manner as per customer
requirements
- Ensure work orders are signed by employee who handles the request
- Ensure machinery is in safe working condition by lubrication, cleaning etc.
- Report any concerns to the Shop Manager
- Ensure work area is kept clean daily:
- Floors are kept clear of any debris
- Electrical cords wrapped and put away
- Ensure Workplace Health & Safety policy is followed
- Follow the company policies, goals and objectives for the Company and the Production Department
- All employees must always be wearing proper footwear and hearing / eye protection when required
- Starts machine and observes machine operation to reposition work piece, change dies, or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes
- Inspects or measures work, using rule, gauges, and templates to ensure quality products
- Lifts work piece manually and positions and secures it on machine table in holding fixture
- Changes worn bending and cutting tools as required
- Maintain work area and shop tools / equipment
- Check stock length material for defects
- Check and compare quantities cut compared to what is required and shown on BOM
- Able to work independently
- Is a team player
- Has a valid forklift license - Preferred
- Run a first piece sample at the beginning of each shift to ensure the calibration and quality of selected machines
- Responsible to be the main contact from the shop to assist when called upon
- Has reliable transportation
- Able to consistently lift up to 50lbs
- Other job duties as assigned - Mainly duties with residential service work
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
