Accounting Clerk

The Accounting Clerk works closely with other members of the accounting team. The position will be responsible for ensuring proper accounting of revenue and expenses inclusive of day-to-day and month-end reporting. Reporting includes multiple Clients, Properties and Companies of the organization.
The position is part-time (25-30 hours per week) onsite

**Role and Responsibilities**
**Transactions**
Input invoices into QuickBooks for various rental/condominium properties
Upon Senior approval, prepare cheques or EFTs for payment
Print monthly financial statements
Back up for Accounts Receivable
**Banking**
Provide daily receipts to the Payroll Administrator, prepare the bank deposits into the appropriate company bank account and book deposits into the appropriate property bank account.
**Reconciliations**
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for review and posting
Prepare monthly credit card reconciliations for review and posting
Prepare batch entry for posting to General Ledger
**General Administration**
Various data entry related tasks
Ad hoc support to the Accounting team
**Other duties as assigned**
Full clerical duties inclusive of answering phones-providing staff supplies
Greet visitors to the office
Taking Payments
Ad hoc clerical support
**Working Timelines**
Weekend or evening work is not expected but may occasionally be necessary in order to meet a specific deadline.
**Qualifications and Skills**
Detail-oriented with attention to data accuracy
The ability to troubleshoot financial documentation
Proven use and comprehension of accounting software, specifically QuickBooks, Excel and Microsoft Office
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills in dealing with customers
Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
**Experience**
Must have at least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience in Quick Books and full working knowledge of Microsoft Office (demonstration of skills will be requested)
Experience working in a busy office environment with competing priorities and deadlines is an asset
Demonstrated ability to work independently
College diploma in accounting or finance preferred but not required
College level courses in accounting or finance preferred but not required
General technology use and troubleshooting skills
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
**Salary**: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 - 30 per week
