**There are several casual Child and Youth Counsellor I, Benjamin Road positions available.**
This position requires a minimum of 20 hours of availability provided on a monthly basis including (but not limited to) 2 overnight shifts between the hours of 11:00 pm and 8:00 am. Availability to work a minimum of 5 holidays on an annual basis including at least 2 of the following dates:

- December 24th,
- December 25th,
- December 31st,
- January 1st

**Your Role**:

- Undertakes various Child and Youth Care Worker duties in the assigned service area and works with the Primary Youth Worker, maintaining a safe therapeutic environment.
- Assists with recreational and skills development programming, working individually with clients and/or in a group format.
- Works intentionally from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive perspective to further create a sense of belonging at Lutherwood. Supports the sustainability of social emotional learning.

**Your Talents and Experience**:

- Ability to design and implement recreational and group programming.
- Ability to communicate openly and honestly and counsel youth, and give and take direction.
- A sound understanding of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
- Resiliency while working under the physical and emotional stress is necessary.
- Required to hold: completion of CIT or equivalent, current First Aid/CPR certificate, and a “G” class license.
- Diploma or degree in child and youth work or related discipline plus at least one year successful experience as a Child and Youth worker or equivalent.
