We are searching for a self-motivated, friendly, and persuasive Sourcing Buyer with a keen eye for detail to lead localization, onshoring and insourcing initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting market research, building a network of potential vendors, negotiating the best agreements, and travelling to secure deals and meet with potential vendors. You will need to have outstanding communication skills and display a high degree of cultural sensitivity to fill this role.

To be successful as a Sourcing Buyer, you should be able to identify emerging consumer trends and have a good ability to read people. An outstanding Sourcing Buyer will give committed focus to the localization initiatives and make important decisions in fast-paced environments.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Research potential vendors for identified product categories, comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal
- Perform sourcing, negotiation, supplier selection, contract redlining for suppliers and commodity categories
- Investigate product and user requirements
- Propose cost saving initiatives through alternative vendor sourcing
- Participate in the development of purchasing strategies and identify buying trends with a focus on lowered transactional cost
- Conduct research to become familiar with what products are available as well as their costs and benefits
- Propose and implement strategies to localize vendors more efficiently to reduce lead-time and cost
- Search available products to find the best combination of quality, price, and delivery
- Administer contracts with various suppliers
- Provide reports, updates and summaries to keep stakeholders apprised of project progress
- Formally invite and vet participants through tools such as RFI and RFQ
- Work with internal teams including Quality Management and Engineering to gather requirements and to audit potential vendors
- Keep detailed records and prepare and submit necessary reports
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with all key suppliers

**Requirements**:

- Degree or diploma in business, logistics, accounting, supply chain management preferred
- Certification in APICS, CIPP or CPSM preferred
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating, and liaising with vendors)
- Practical experience with purchasing & ERP software
- Familiarity with DDMRP preferred
- Proven work experience as a Purchaser or Buyer or Commodity Manager
- Effective relationship-building skills
- Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills
- Willingness to make quick and thoughtful decisions on behalf of the business
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analysis
