The Lillooet Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Team is an established, welcoming group of professionals dedicated to enhancing the well-being of children, youth, and families. With a team of five clinicians and two support workers spread across three locations, they work closely with community partners like MCFD Social Workers and Indigenous counsellors to make a real difference. Known for their friendly and supportive atmosphere, they meet monthly in one of their vibrant communities to stay connected and strengthen their impact.
**The Role**
The Mental Health Support Worker is at the heart of making a difference by offering culturally sensitive and ethically sound support to clients and their families both in the community and on reserve. You'll collaborate with a clinician, follow tailored assessment and treatment plans, and lead engaging group programs on topics like healthy boundaries and reducing anxiety. Reporting to the Team Leader, you'll contribute to enhancing client and family well-being and connect them with essential services. **Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Child and Youth Care, or equivalent field of study.
- Experience working in mental health services. Preference may be given to applicants with experience working in child and youth mental health services.Provisos
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
- Exposure to regular travel in remote locations.**About this Position**:
This position is part time (35 hours biweekly/0.5 FTE).
This is a temporary opportunity for six (6) months from the time of hire. This position may be extended or become permanent.
This position has full time on-site requirements.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future full time and part time temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
