NRB Modular Solutions Ltd. a subsidiary of ATCO Structures Canada is looking to hire an energetic, passionate, reliable 2nd-year, 3rd year and 4th year Carpenter Apprentice to join our NRB Calgary Manufacturing Plant.
Reporting to the Lead head, Carpenter Apprentice is responsible for assisting in constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, conforming to local building codes. This is a union role.
**What You Get to Do**:
Build house framework, walls, roof, exterior and interior finishes
Install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling, molding, and ceiling tiles
Repair and remodel existing structures of all kinds
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
Select materials, plan sequences and methods of work, and measure and mark materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions.
Cut and shape materials and join them with nails, screws, bolts, or glue.
Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and in the right size, shape, and location.
Work accurately and economically and follow national and local building codes
**Who You Are**:
Currently enrolled in a carpentry program as a 2nd year, 3rd year or 4th year Carpenter Apprentice recognized by Alberta Trades
Able to operate all hand and power tools required to perform tasks specific to trade.
Perform heavy manual labor, including bending, stooping, reaching, carrying and lifting heavy objects weighing up to 45 lbs.
