We currently have an opportunity for a Shipping Consultant to join our growing team.

As a Shipping Consultant, you will work closely with our customers, couriers, Inside Sales, Sales, Production Planning, and yard staff. In this role customer focus, problem solving, teamwork a positive attitude and organization will be your biggest assets. The hours of work are typically Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m.5 p.m., 40 hours per week with overtime offered, as needed, to meet business demand. This will be a term position with an anticipated start date of January 2, 2024, to Oct 31, 2024. (Has the potential to turn into a full-time position).

**Responsibilities and qualifications for this role include**:

- Being the first connection with customers by either phone or face-to-face greeting walk-in visitors
- Answering general product and company inquiries and directing people to the appropriate contacts
- Clerical shipping and receiving functions
- Communicate with contractors / dealers regarding availability of product and delivery schedules
- Organize orders and prioritize them according to location and required date
- Connect with Sales, Production, Customer, Purchaser, and other Shipping team members regarding stock levels
- Call couriers to deliver product to those customers who want shipments delivered by courier
- Ensure employees and visitors follow transportation and safety rules / policies
- General office teamwork with filing, matching invoices, and shipping bills
- Ability to work extended shifts (overtime) on a regular basis to meet business demand during the peak season
- Good computer and keyboarding skills including experience with Excel, Outlook, and data entry
- Ability to multitask, be well organized and possess good time management skills is essential
- Knowledge of the transportation industry an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
