**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- MSW from an accredited University
- Current registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers (OCSWSSW) required
- Membership with the Ontario Association of Social Workers required
- Recent experience in a high volume emergency department
- Minimum of three years recent experience in a mental health setting
- Demonstrated knowledge, sensitivity, and expertise in the care of older adults and their families
- Demonstrated current knowledge of the signs and symptoms of mental illness, social work intervention strategies, and treatment modalities for clients with psychiatric disorders
- Experience working with equity-seeking populations (i.e. Elderly, LGBTQ2S+, Mental Health, Addictions, Homeless, and Indigenous)
- Demonstrated crisis intervention, case management skills, knowledge of behavioral techniques, one-on-one counselling and family counselling
- Knowledge of community resources (i.e. addiction resources, harm reduction programs, treatment programs, counselling resources)
- Demonstrated knowledge, training and recent experience in providing individual Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing
- Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously as well as in collaboration within an interprofessional healthcare team
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, which includes Mental Health Act, Healthcare Consent Act, and Substitute Decisions Act
- Demonstrate ability to develop and maintain effective professional and therapeutic relationships with clients
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively to ensure patient flow and effective caseload management within established targets
- Demonstrated computer skills including use of Microsoft Office, Meditech, and Coordinated Care Plans
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including ability to prioritize workload
- Excellent work performance and attendance record is essential
