What we are looking for:
Under the supervision of the Director of Compliance, the Counselor, Compliance ensures that the team’s operations and core responsibilities are running smoothly and actively participates in the team’s shared tasks and projects. The Counselor’s main duties will consist of assisting the Director with monitoring and testing regulatory controls and collaborating on requests concerning the compliance control framework and various compliance programs, all with the goal of ensuring that the company honours its regulatory obligations.

Your responsibilities:
- Participate in identifying, managing and documenting controls related to regulatory compliance obligations.- Participate in testing the structure and evaluate the effectiveness of new and modified controls with the control officers.- Work with control owners to support the continuous improvement and implementation of new controls as regulatory requirements evolve.- Participate in other duties as needed such as: certain regulatory filings, request from clients and business partners for due diligence and requests requiring the team’s expertise, updating compliance manual and related policies as well as various tasks and projects.- Maintain a working knowledge of the compliance regulations, policies and procedures of the company and its affiliates, and stay current with best practices in the industry.

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (finance, business administration, accounting, etc.);- Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or any other course related to the securities or asset management industry;- At least five years of experience in the financial services industry, asset management preferred;- Understanding of the compliance and regulatory framework and industry best practices;- Knowledge of internal controls pertaining to asset managers;- Ability to work independently and interact effectively with others;- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage simultaneous priorities;- Ability to exercise diligence, diplomacy and discretion when dealing with confidential information;- For Montreal, excellent communication skills in French and English, both spoken and written are required. For Toronto, excellent communications skills in English, both spoken and written are required.

Additional Information:
- Fiera Capital adheres to a hybrid working environment with 3 days in-office per week#LI-Hybrid
