Experienced Fire Suppression Technician

As our Experienced Fire Suppression Technician, you will be responsible for a wide variety of in-field fire services such as installing, inspecting, maintaining, modifying, and servicing fire protection equipment and fire suppression systems at commercial, industrial, and institutional sites. Some of the additional expectations of this role include:

- Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manuals;
- Evaluating plans, customer requests, code, and non-conformance issues to determine specific solutions and recommendations for customers and management;
- Preparing stock materials for daily execution of assigned work orders and optimizing material utilization;
- Supporting take off’s and preparing proposals/quotations as required;
- Completing daily reports of completed work orders and activities;
- Ensuring safe work practices are followed safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job;
- Mentoring other team members including trainees and field service labour; and
- Participating in 24/7 on-call/call out emergency service.

- Demonstrate mindset towards continuous learning, as well as an ability to use/learn technology solutions in the execution of their work is a must.
- Completed training in various fire alarm systems (e.g. Siemens, Autocall, Simplex, Edwards and Notifier) would be an asset.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
- Ability to travel to and work out of remote client sites. Overtime may be necessary; therefore, flexibility in hours of work will be required.

They must also possess the following experience and/or education:
NOTE: All combinations of education in a related and experience will be considered.
- Fire service certifications and/or suppression training would be considered an asset.

Everguard offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Work hours are 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 4:30pm. On-call, overtime and evening/weekend work is sometimes required. Group benefits with regards to medical and dental are available on a cost share with the Company, as well as vacation time.
