Furcon is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Project Manager. The Project Manager role is an important, fast-paced position with responsibilities including liaising with stakeholders, managing subtrades and workers, preparing and revising critical documentation, ordering material, conducting site visits, and estimating/invoicing projects. This role works with the Regional Manager to manage numerous construction projects from beginning to closeout.

At Furcon, you are more than just a project manager. Furcon PM’s are provided a portfolio projects and customers to manage. This provides PM’s with flexibility and control over how they manage their own crews and projects within their portfolio.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

This role involves assisting the Project Manager with numerous aspects of construction projects at various stages of completion. The role will be dynamic, with varied responsibilities depending on the project and phase. Likely responsibilities and duties include:

- Manage portfolio of customers and projects for your designated area.
- Conducting site visits to review new work or check-in on existing work.
- Developing project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinating with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and customers
- Monitoring project progress and making necessary adjustments.
- Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Maintaining effective communication with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Managing project resources, including personnel and materials.
- Resolving conflicts and negotiating solutions to challenges that arise.
- Overseeing quality control and safety on the construction site.
- Preparing reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintaining an understanding of construction laws and regulations.

**Required Qualifications**

**Education**
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Civil/Structural/architectural preferred) or
- Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Project Management or similar.

**Employment Experience**
- 5+ year(s) construction (or similar industry) project management experience

**Skills & Abilities**
- Experience working in contracting or construction industry
- Knowledge of AutoCAD considered an asset.
- Understanding project management withing Health Care Facilities
- Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Controls (IPAC) considered an asset.
- Understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and codes
- Ability to read and understand Request for Proposal and bid request documents
- Experience with construction cost estimation (preferred)
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write technical documents, requests for information, and bid documents
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders across various projects
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage numerous aspects of projects in different phases of completion
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products

**Other**
- Valid G-Class driver's license
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Two doses of an approved covid-19 vaccination (required by hospital customers)

**Employment Equity**

**Salary**

**Base Rate**: $75,000 per year + Quarterly performance bonuses.

**Job Rate (Base Rate including performance bonuses)**: $77,000 - $91,000

**Max Rate (Maximum salary potential, achieved by progressing through PM band)**: $135,000

**Bonuses**:
Furcon has a quarterly bonus system based on Project Manager's profitability and performance during each quarter.

**Location**

Office located in Mississauga, ON. Most work (80%) will be done in the office, while the remainder may require travel to sites in Peel Region, Toronto, and York Region.

**Schedule**

This role is a 7.5 hour/day, 5 day/week role with some requirements for evenings/weekend on-call support.
