**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager, Employment Services, the Resource Centre Attendant is the first point of contact for Community Employment Services. The Resource Centre Attendant directs inquiries to appropriate internal and external resources, handles all new referrals from community partners, and assists job seekers with their job search activities.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Client Support
- As first point of contact, greets and directs visitors to the Bancroft campus/Community Employment Services
- Screens incoming applicants to the Employment Services programs to determine initial client need and direct appropriate next steps for clients
- Provides appropriate referrals to clients for internal and external services
- Compiles, posts and maintains up-to-date job leads
- Collaborates with other Community Employment Services staff to promote employment in the community and provides a seamless continuum of employment services
Clerical Support
- Monitors online client referral system and provides updates to referring agencies
- Contacts referred clients and books appointments
- Enters information in data management systems; EOIS CaMS and ESCases
- Maintains and updates activity tracking forms
- Responds to in-person, phone and electronic requests for program information and services
- Participates in team meetings to support overall goals and targets
Inventory and Equipment Maintenance
- Maintains virtual job board and tracks status of all Resource Centre job postings
- Maintains Resource Centre supply inventories e.g. College calendars, labour market information, community resources, apprenticeship info
- Minor equipment troubleshooting to printers and computers
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum 2 (two) year diploma in Business Administration, Office Systems, Computers, Databases or related field
- A minimum of at least one (1) year of relevant experience providing services to diverse client groups, developing job search-related paperwork and compiling and disseminating labour market information
- Familiarity with a wide range of community, employment and social service-related resources
- Excellent customer service skills along with effective organizational, research and administrative skills
