**Position Overview**

As a Health & Safety Specialist, you will work closely with the site project teams and report to the Director of Construction. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and enforce effective health and safety policies, procedures, and practices to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. Your number one objective will be to create a safe working environment and foster a safety-first culture among all team members.

- Deliver our Health & Safety Programs to our teams with Collaboration, and Trust.
- Maintain Compliant Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Provide and Suggest Health & Safety Training.
- Recommend Continuous Improvement in alignment with COR.
- Conduct Internal COR Audits.
- Provide the DOC and Leadership with monthly Reporting.

**What You Will Do**
- Lead our health & safety COR program to empower our teams to create safe workspaces.
- Keep our health & safety policies, procedures, and programs up to date with the latest regulations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure a culture of continuous improvement.
- Conduct internal audits and deliver accurate health & safety performance reports to the Director of Construction.
- Develop, implement, and maintain health & safety policies in line with industry best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, potential risks and ensure compliance.
- Provide guidance on health & safety matters, including risk assessments, written proposals, company meetings, and incident investigations.
- Develop and deliver training programs to increase safety awareness.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and Subcontractors to integrate health & safety into project planning and execution.
- Stay updated on health & safety legislation / regulations, trends and recommend improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and safety data for analysis.
- Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory agencies and manage permits and licenses.
- Represent the company for all H&S matters with clients, subcontractors, and any external relations.

**What We Are Looking For**
- 3-5 years of strong health & safety experience within commercial construction.
- 3+ years of experience with COR or ISO 14001 implementation, internal and external audits.
- Professional certifications in Health & Safety are required.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to listen, provide feedback, and effectively train and educate employees at all levels.
- Proven experience in health & safety management within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of regulations pertaining to health and safety in construction.
- Strong auditing skills.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, hazards, and risk management techniques.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to safety.
- Proficient in using health & safety software and tools.
