**RT Medical Job Description**:
Personal Support Workers (PSWs) provide care to individuals who need assistance as they deal with the effects of aging, injury, surgery, or illness. **Please note that this position is for agency staffing support and will be direct at multiple long term care facilities. We are not providing living accommodations at this time.**

The role will include:

- Assisting clients with personal care such as bathing and dressing
- Providing companionship
- Taking clients for outings or exercise
- Performing basic meal preparation
- Performing light housekeeping duties such as washing dishes, taking out the garbage, doing patient's laundry, vacuuming and dusting
- Providing respite while the primary caregiver is out of the home
- Reminding clients about their medication
- Taking clients to appointments or shopping
- Being a part of the client's total care program
- Act upon delegated tasks as required within your scope of practice
- This role will be direct at a long term care facility

**Qualifications**:

- Have one of the following qualifications:

- Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities or the Ministry of Education approved program
- RN/RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy student with a minimum successful completion of year one of the program
- Holds a valid certificate as a Home Support Worker (level II or III), Health Care Aide, or Personal Attendant
- Holds a valid certificate as a Developmental Support Worker
- Internationally licensed Nurse, Midwife or Physician
- Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel and reach, ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently, ability to assist clients with standing, walking, and sitting; ability to reposition clients in bed
- Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR
- Updated immunization records (including completion of a two-step tuberculosis test within the last 6 months)
- Clear criminal background check, and Vulnerable sector check are required upon hire
- Ability to interact with others in a caring, tactful and courteous manner
- Proficient verbal and written English communication skills

**Requirements**:

- Vulnerable Sector Check **completed within the last six months**:

- Submission of proof of **three COVID vaccinations**:

- TB test completed **within 6 months to a year**:

- Immunization record
- Up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification
