HY-TECH DRILLING IS LOOKING FOR AN IT TECHNICIAN TO JOIN OUR TEAM IN SASKATOON, SK OR SMITHERS, BC.

The IT Technician is responsible for providing timely and effective resolutions to technical problems related to IT-serviced computer and phone operations. This will be accomplished by performing troubleshooting on technical issues, guiding users through to issue resolution, communicating technical solutions in user-friendly language, and conducting end-user training when necessary. The IT Technician is responsible for ensuring all work is done in accordance with Hy-Tech procedures and following safe work practices.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assists users with software such as MS Office, Acrobat, etc.
- Resolves network issues; VPN, Internet, Shares (assists IT Manager).
- Programs, Troubleshoots, and provides assistance with the use of the phone system.
- Resolves Windows PC issues.
- Troubleshoots and provides problem resolution for iPhones and iPads. Also assists with Hy-Tech app ongoing maintenance and upkeep.
- Troubleshoots and provides problem resolution for printers and scanners (office and field).
- Identifies and resolves workplace ergonomics issues.
- Offers ongoing support to the IT Manager as needed for equipment maintenance, tracking, and upkeep of current IT systems (Software and Hardware).
- Offers remote support for field and office employees based in satellite locations.
- Research and testing of new technologies that could be used to enhance operational functions.

**THE SETTING**

This position is based out of the Branch Location in Saskatoon, SK or the company headquarters in Smithers, BC. Office work environment with some travel required. This is an in-person position so the successful applicant would be required to report to Saskatoon or Smithers office locations for work.

**THE SCHEDULE**
- Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, corresponding with hours of work required in the branch location.
- There will also be some requirement to be available after hours and on weekend during busy times.

**WHAT YOU NEED**
- Background in IT support or an IT Help Desk capacity is considered an asset.
- Post-Secondary diploma in Network Engineering or Network Analysis is preferred. Computer Science Degree would also be an asset.
- Intermediate knowledge of networking, operating system, and server architectures.
- Ability to diagnose and problem solve in a hands-on capacity.
- Functional command of Spanish would be considered an asset, but is not a requirement.
- Expertise with Office 365 Admin, MS Office.
- Expertise with VMware virtual environment.
- Experience with Group Policy and Mobile Device Management is preferred.
- Ability to explain technical concepts and theories to non-technical audiences.
- Must have a valid Driver’s Licence and must provide a current Driver’s Abstract on an annual basis.
