We are hiring one (1) Out-of-School Program Assistant to provide care for children during our Before & After School programs. Hours are 7 am - 8:30 am and 2:45 pm - 5:30 pm during school days, 7 am to 4 pm during holidays, pro-D days. Utilizing excellent behaviour management techniques for children 5 to 12 years of age, the staff ensures child safety and well-being at all times. As well, Staff is expected to facilitate gross and fine motor activities, games, crafts and sciences. The contract will be paid $19/hour

**Education Qualifications for Child Care Staff**:

- Responsible Adult or willing to pass the certification
- First Aid with CPR or willing to pass the certification

**Skills for Child Care Staff**:

- Experience in doing crafts and facilitating group activities
- Demonstrate the ability to interact positively with children
- Provide a nurturing and caring environment for children
- Maintain an orderly physical environment to enrich the optimal growth and development of children in programs
- Model good behaviours and strong behaviour management techniques

**Responsibilities of Child Care Staff**:

- Implement daily activities for the children in the program that contribute to the care, growth, and healthy development of children
- Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being
- Build and maintain a positive and healthy relationship with co-workers
- Maintain & promote health and safety standards within the program including basic cleaning of the work area
- Report and document details of all serious occurrences to appropriate personnel immediately
