**Welcome to the Parish of Seaforth**

**The Parish of Seaforth** is a warm and inviting faith family who strives to be inclusive, supporting, and affirming with each other and those in need. We are excited to embark upon a creative relationship with our new Rector.

We are blessed with the natural brightness of the design of our church, All Apostles by the Sea, which is spiritually uplifting. Worship is engaging with various musicians and a variety of liturgy and music creates an environment of family, fellowship, and enjoyment. Due to the recent retirement of our full-time minister, we are actively seeking a full-time replacement to join our church community.

The Parish Church, All Apostles by the Sea, is located at 6023 Highway 207, about 30 minutes east of the city of Dartmouth, in the seaside community of Seaforth NS. The church is a beautiful well maintained heritage building, with commanding ocean views.

We also have a modern, two-story, three-bedroom rectory containing the parish office and a new detached garage. Located, in the village of Porters Lake, the rectory overlooks the lake after which the village is named, and is approximately 10 kms or 11 minutes from All Apostles by the Sea.

- Close proximity to several growing residential communities
- Availability of all levels of schooling, including an elementary French Immersion school
- Easy accessibility to local shopping, medical offices, recreation centers, and community organizations
- Availability of post-secondary education including a variety of first rate universities and community colleges in the nearby cities of Halifax and Dartmouth including the Atlantic School of Theology, located in the capital city of Halifax
- Wonderful opportunities for outdoor activities including an array of hiking trails and a multitude of opportunities for water-related activities including, boating, world renowned surfing, and both lake and ocean swimming.

Our congregation uses both the Book of Common Prayer and the Book of Alternative Services in our weekly worship as well as the inclusion of prayers and rituals from other countries and cultures. We have several gifted musicians who take part in the services by playing the organ as well as other instruments including guitars and violins. Frequently our services are augmented with appropriate music videos.

To assist with pastoral care and weekly services, we are fortunate in having a retired parishioner serving as Associate Priest. As well, there is a small dedicated group of people performing altar duties and serving as greeters and readers.

With the knowledge that growth is essential to our existence, we are eager for a leader who is committed to increasing the congregation, particularly in attracting younger members and families.
