Colour Technician

**Description**:
As a member of the operations team, the
**Colour Technician** is responsible to correct and approve colour, and run samples using test equipment.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Run production paste samples on mill, colour correct and approve according to lab tolerances.
- Check PBO batches for colour and dispersion using colour computer and Hegman gauge.
- Check incoming raw materials to meet specification. IE: Calcium
- Assist with Repro matching and PMO reformulations.
- Pigment evaluations and testing.
- Assist with ongoing and future projects pertaining to paste and production colour.
- Provide backup for paste supervisor as required.
- Train for backup support of CSS and color development.

**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**:
**Experience**:

- Colour matching and correcting experience.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Experience with lab 2 Roll Mill and Calender would be an asset.
- 80% on colour test.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to follow protocol and AWI instructions.
- Collaborative team player.
- Ability to interact well with both salary and hourly employees.

**Education**:

- Post-Secondary education: College/University graduate preferred
- Minimum: High School Diploma

**Working Environment**:

- Usually works in a lab, plant and office environment, but the mission of the organization may sometimes take them to non-standard workplaces.
- Standard work week, but additionally may work evenings, weekends, and overtime hours to accommodate activities.
