**What will you work on?**

The Security Intern will assist senior security analysts in the monitoring and analysis of security events and alerts generated by various security systems.

**How will you create impact?**
- Collaborate with senior analysts to investigate security incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
- Utilize ticketing systems like ServiceNow to log and track security incidents and requests, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
- Participate in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery, under the guidance of senior analysts.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and security audits to identify potential weaknesses in the infrastructure, with guidance from senior analysts.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security controls and technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions, following the direction of senior analysts.
- Support senior analysts in evaluating new security technologies and tools, and provide input based on observations and research.
- Participate in security awareness training programs for employees, assisting in the preparation of materials and presentations.
- Contribute to the documentation of security processes, procedures, and findings, with guidance from senior analysts.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements, with support and oversight from senior analysts.

**What are your skills and experience?**
- Available for hybrid work model, 3 days per week in office
- Must be able to work full-time as an intern
- Proficiency in networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network security protocols would be a plus
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and concepts such as zero trust, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), intrusion detection systems (IDS), eXtended Detection and Response (XDR), and threat intelligence is preferred
